Data Analyst I/II
About The Position
The Seattle Housing Authority (SHA) is seeking a Data Analyst to join their mission-driven team. This role involves conducting technical analysis of SHA’s programs and processes, extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data to support strategic decision-making. The Data Analyst will be the team expert in sourcing, extracting, and compiling data for internal and external stakeholders, and will conduct research and evaluation to inform policy and program development. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, microeconomics, statistics or a related field
- May substitute four additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree
- May substitute master’s degree in a related field in lieu of one year of work experience
- Experience in data analysis, information management, data science, or a related field
- One year of SQL experience
- One year of data mining experience with a strong understanding of data flow structure
- One year of experience of developing reports, visualizations, and recommendations based on data analysis
- A track record of navigating complex organizations, developing trust among colleagues, and building relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
Nice To Haves
- Level I: Two years of work experience
- Level II: Four years of work experience
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key resource for cross-departmental and cross-sector data management, extraction, analytics, and utilization
- Help shape and inform internal and external data
- Develop expert level knowledge in data definitions and the nuances of when and how data is collected, input, and transformed
- Identify key takeaways and insights from data
- Support the continuous improvement of processes and documentation for collecting and coordinating data across SHA
- Identify and continuously improve original data and cross-departmental analytics
- Identify and test changes to SHA’s data warehouse and create and maintain metadata and documentation
- Create accessible, audience-tailored dashboards and reports
