About The Position

CFIB is seeking a Data Analyst Power BI (Research-Economics) for a full-time permanent hybrid position based in their Toronto office. This role is ideal for new graduates who enjoy data analytics and want to contribute to an organization that supports small businesses across Canada, influencing economic and political decision-making. CFIB is a data-driven organization that collects exclusive survey data from business owners to generate strategic insights. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively within the research-economics team, reporting to the Director of Economics. The primary responsibility will be to manage large survey data sets, optimizing, analyzing, and integrating them into Power BI, as well as creating visualizations and delivering quantitative and qualitative content.

Requirements

Proficiency in dimensional modeling including star and snowflake schema design
Knowledge of Power BI
Knowledge of SQL, DAX and Power Query
Expertise in Microsoft office 365 suite for word processing, spreadsheets, and graphs
Commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
Ability to work well with minimum supervision with the capability to self-learn
Good interpersonal skills
Fluency in English language is a requirement (written, oral, and reading)
Desire to learn more about the small business sector and its role in the Canadian economy

Nice To Haves

PL300 certification (for Power BI)
Experience or knowledge of statistical analysis is an asset (R, Python, SPSS, etc.)
Previous experience with survey data is an asset
Fluency in French language is an asset
