About The Position

Alpha Data Services is looking for an undergraduate Data Analyst Intern with an interest in data, analytics, and financial markets. This internship offers hands‑on experience supporting data used in asset management platforms, including order management and enterprise data systems. The intern will work with the Alpha Data Services Data team to help ensure data accuracy and consistency across platforms. Through real‑world projects and day‑to‑day support, the intern will gain exposure to data quality, analytics, and operational processes that support trading, reporting, and decision‑making. This is a great opportunity for students interested in finance, data, and technology to build practical skills in a professional environment. The Data Analyst Intern will support data quality, data operations, and basic analytics related to asset management and enterprise data management (EDM) platforms. The role focuses on learning industry best practices while contributing to ongoing operations and client initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Coursework or academic projects involving data analysis or financial systems
  • Familiarity with Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Interest in data accuracy, financial markets, and asset management
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or database concepts
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • exposure to Python, R, or data visualization tools is a plus
  • Interest in financial instruments, market data, and enterprise data platforms

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monitoring and validating data quality across platforms
  • Support reference and market data mapping and documentation
  • Help investigate data issues and support root‑cause analysis
  • Use SQL and basic programming tools to analyze and reconcile data
  • Assist in creating reports and dashboards that track data quality metrics
  • Work with team members to understand data requirements and support client needs
