About The Position

This person is responsible for conceptualization, design, planning, creation, implementation, and maintenance of automated and customized data solutions and tabular models. Work includes designing, maintaining, and automating reports; validating query and solution results; leading the development and use of automated data engagement solutions, tools, and technology. This person is expected to consult with stakeholders and business lines to manage and bring to conclusion multiple projects, contribute to data governance initiatives, develop tabular models, use advanced analytics tools and techniques, and design scalable solutions that make data more accessible to users as well as drive data informed decisions.

Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree, plus four years of related work experience or the equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Financial Services, Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI, tabular data models, and machine learning or predictive analytics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research and understand business problems, write SQL queries, create stored procedures, build tabular models, and use tabular models or other methods to access data.
  • Develop reports and visualizations to process and organize data for end-users into more easily consumable formats.
  • Analyze information and automate insights to help generate data informed decisions and actions where possible.
  • Become a power user of the applications and tools used to produce queries, reports, and insights.
  • Work effectively with internal customers to improve the quality of data and reporting, access to data, tabular models, and processing of information for business decisions.
  • Proactively identify and evaluate improvements and benefits that could be derived from modifications or automation of existing reports and manual processes.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to implement enhanced solutions.
  • Plan and facilitate quarterly stakeholder meetings to effectively develop and manage analytics and reporting for key business lines as assigned.
  • Proactively seek out, identify, and respond to opportunities to enhance the delivery of information, automation of insights, and enable end-users to analyze data without requiring outside help.
  • Lead Data Engagement initiatives to make information accessible through dynamic reports and dashboards driven by universal tabular models.
  • Work with technology team members to build and enhance universal tabular models as well as help design and implement the storage and access of data for the creation and production of automated reports and solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of innovative tools, remain on top of industry best practice, and know what system and business process data comes from.
  • Use advanced analytics techniques in development of new solutions and have knowledge of machine learning methods.
  • Remain current on changes within the data models and systems used across the bank.
  • Manage multiple data and reporting projects simultaneously, prepare project timelines, organize solution development specifications, monitor, review, and report on project progress.
  • Provide onboarding and technical support for analysts and department interns as needed.
  • Successfully develop and execute validation plans that thoroughly test data and allow for quality implementation of new or modified reports and solutions.
  • Follow procedures for change management controls, maintaining metadata, and creating or updating technical spec docs.
  • Support data governance, data literacy, and data stewardship initiatives established by the Data Governance Committee to improve data integrity, usability, and access across the organization.
  • Lead data governance initiatives and key results on behalf of Data Engagement Team as assigned.
  • Consult with Learning and Development on data literacy training needs.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and accuracy; decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work collaboratively with team members to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training.
