BestowDallas, TX
$95,000 - $115,000Hybrid

About The Position

Bestow is a leading vertical technology platform serving some of the largest and most innovative life insurers. Our platform unifies the fragmented, legacy value chain, enabling carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years. Carriers choose us to scale and operate at unprecedented speed, powered by AI and automation. Bestow isn't selling policies. We're building the infrastructure that helps an entire industry move faster, reach more people, and deliver on its promise. Backed by leading investors (Goldman Sachs, Hedosophia, NEA, Valar, 8VC) and trusted by major carriers, Bestow is powered by a team that moves with precision, purpose, and heart. If you want to help reimagine a centuries-old industry with lasting impact, join us. Bestow offers flexible remote/hybrid work, meaningful benefits, equity, and substantial growth opportunities. Bestow uses E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. The Bestow Analytics team is a highly visible, dedicated group working across the company to build data solutions for our carrier partners and internal teams. You will partner with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to turn raw data into trusted models and metrics on our modern warehouse stack (SQL, dbt, orchestration, and BI tools).

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a similar role with heavy SQL use.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt (or an equivalent transformation framework) in a cloud data warehouse.
  • Comfortable explaining technical work to non-technical partners and collaborating through code review.
  • Self-directed: you spot problems, propose fixes, and follow through without waiting for perfect instructions.
  • Thoughtful about data quality, governance, and how your work affects downstream dashboards and decisions.
  • Curious about improving how you work—including practical use of AI tools with clear context and verification habits.
  • Demonstrated experience with agentic AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) integrated into your daily workflow — not occasional use, but a deliberate practice

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dbt models that transform source data into clean, tested datasets for analytics and reporting.
  • Write SQL to investigate data issues, validate new sources, and answer stakeholder questions with accurate, reproducible logic.
  • Implement data quality checks (dbt tests, freshness, reconciliations) and help resolve production data issues, including on-call rotation.
  • Document models, metrics, and lineage so teammates and stakeholders understand definitions and dependencies.
  • Partner with analysts and business teams to deliver production-ready data products—not just ad hoc queries.
  • Use modern tooling—including AI-assisted frameworks—to move faster while keeping quality and review standards high.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity based on role
  • Policies and managers that support work/life balance, like our flexible paid time off and parental leave programs
  • 100% paid-premium option for medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Lifestyle stipend to support your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing
  • Flexible work-from-home policy and open to remote
  • Remote and WFH options, as well as a beautiful, state-of-the-art office in Dallas’ Deep Ellum, for those who prefer an office setting
  • Employee-led diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
