About The Position

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented Data Analyst/Data Engineer to support a federal government agency. This is a full-time, 12-month contract position contingent upon contract award. The role involves supporting data inventory, discovery, transformation, validation, and preparation of structured datasets from various sources. The ideal candidate will be able to obtain data through advanced computerized models, extrapolate data patterns through advanced algorithms, develop simple graphs and charts to explain mathematical information's influence on projects, present recommendations to managers for business model alterations to generate profitable future trends, set up processes for data efficiency, and analyze and interpret trends from data. Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply. U.S. Citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance. Travel to Arlington, VA, and Paris, France, will be required, necessitating a current U.S. passport.

Requirements

• Five (5) or more years of experience in data analysis or engineering
• Five (5) or more years of experience working with messy or semi-structured data
• Five (5) or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel, data transformation tools, and data validation techniques
• Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance
• Must possess a current U.S. passport

• Support data inventory, discovery, transformation, validation, and preparation of structured datasets from disparate sources (Excel, SharePoint, Subject Matter Expert (SME) inputs)
• Obtain data through advanced computerized models
• Extrapolate data patterns through advanced algorithms
• Develop simple graphs and charts to explain how the mathematical information will influence the specific project or business
• Present to managers how to best alter their business models to generate profitable future trends
• Set up processes to make data more efficient
• Analyze and interpret trends from the data
