About The Position

The Data Analyst I - Compliance serves as the organization's technical owner for ADA compliance as it relates to ADA, Section 108, WCAG 2.11 Level AA, which includes county digital interfaces, social media, public-facing websites, and policies to provide equitable access for individuals with disabilities. This position is responsible for accessibility audit data, acting as the hub in a distributed accountability model. This position manages the accessibility audit dashboard, coordinates with Digital Accessibility Champions (DACs) and or IT Departmental liaisons across departments, and ensures timely, accurate and actionable reporting. The role supports compliance efforts by analyzing data, identifying trends, delegating remediation tasks, and providing technical guidance and assistance to departmental leads. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of ADA Title II/III, Section 508, and WCAG 2.11 Level AA standards; ability to translate requirements into actionable guidance for diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with assistive technologies and testing; screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), magnification tools, speech recognition and alternative input devices.
  • Familiarity with accessible coding practices; semantic HTML, ARIA, keyboard navigation, color contrast, focus management and form labeling.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven results, trend identification, and compliance reporting, proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication; ability to explain technical accessibility concepts in clear actionable terms for non-technical audiences.
  • Project management, prioritization, and coordination skills across cross-functional teams; ability to plan, execute and monitor remediation timelines.
  • Commitment to continuous learning on evolving accessibility standards, legal interpretations and assistive technologies.
  • Knowledge of accessible terminology procurement, vendor accessibility documentation, VPAT review and specification of accessibility requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence or a related field and one (1) year of experience in data analysis, reporting, business process evaluation or related analytical work OR an Associate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Intelligence or a related field and two (2) years of experience in data analysis, reporting, business process evaluation or related analytical work OR possession of a High School Diploma or acceptable equivalency diploma and four (4) years' experience in data analysis, reporting, business process evaluation or related analytical work.
  • Experience working with datasets, identifying trends and preparing reports for operational or compliance purposes.
  • Experience coordinating or supporting cross-functional workgroups, including serving as lead for technology, audit or accessibility initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel) required.
  • Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in accessibility compliance, applying ADA, Section 508 and WCAG in organizational contexts.
  • Professional accessibility certifications such as CPACC, WAS or CPWA.
  • Proven experience conducting comprehensive accessibility audits (web, apps, documents) using automated tools and manual techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce detailed remediation plans with clear prioritization and technical specifications.
  • Background in UX design or software development; experience with specialized testing techniques and assistive technology compatibility verification.
  • Experience implementing accessibility in specialized contexts (e.g., education, healthcare, financial, government).
  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools.
  • Accessibility experience: Familiarity with ADA compliance concepts, documentation practices and implementation workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive accessibility policies and procedures aligned with ADA, Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Conduct accessibility audits of digital properties (websites, mobile apps, software interfaces, electronic documents) using automated tools and manual testing methodologies.
  • Working with the departments, create detailed remediation plans with recommendations, priority levels, and implementation timelines to address identified barriers.
  • Collaborate with development teams, designers, content creators, Procurement, Legal/Risk, and Human Resources to implement accessibility improvements across digital environments.
  • Provide specialized training for staff on accessibility best practices, assistive technology considerations and inclusive design principles tailored to different roles.
  • Establish monitoring and governance processes that ensure continued compliance as systems evolve, and content changes are modified.
  • Coordinate or support cross-functional workgroups; serve as lead for technology, audit, or accessibility initiatives and document outcomes.
  • Prepare clear reports, dashboards and documentation for operational, audit and compliance purposes, track trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Review vendor accessibility documentation (e.g., VPAT) and support accessible technology procurement requirements.
