About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide foundational data analysis, visualization, and reporting to support operational and research needs. Work as an Honest Broker for the Department to extract data from EPIC Clarity, shape and analyze both structured and unstructured data, and use machine learning and natural language processing skills. Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations for defined datasets. Analyze biologic data for quality control, missingness, and trends. The purpose of this position is to provide data support to prospective observational cohorts of patients with critical illness (sepsis) or trauma admitted to the intensive care unit. The Data Analyst C will be responsible for data extraction, quality assurance, merging and summarizing of data, generation of derived variables from clinical data, and some data analysis to support the team’s research goals. Experience in manipulating data extracted from an electronic health record is required. In addition, experience with large scale molecular data types (transcriptomic, genomic and proteomic) is desirable. A major goal of the position will be the creation of project-specific datasets that merge clinical (EHR – EPIC, REDCap) and molecular in-house assays for analysis. The position will also be responsible for writing and reviewing data management SOPs and developing associated training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of experience in a data-oriented field is required.
  • Experience in manipulating data extracted from an electronic health record is required.
  • Use of data analysis tools (Stata and R preferred) and an understanding of medical terminology, with prior work experience extracting analytic datasets from large electronic health record systems is highly desirable.
