This role involves performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Analyses are conducted at all levels of the total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. The position ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. This includes performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Additionally, the role requires conducting technical analysis to support customers in making informed decisions that optimize the performance of large, complex systems. This involves creating, modifying, and running simulation tools and models for detailed technical analysis, reviewing and interpreting system performance specifications to ensure accurate evaluation of desired performance, and reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting analysis results to present them to customers with recommended courses of action. Tools, models, and data evaluation are typically performed using combinations of Matlab, Python, Perl, Java, C++, R, or similar platforms.
