Additionally, they are tasked with managing data acquisition, preventing fraud, and ensuring quality assurance within the Office of Vital Records. This role involves overseeing the seamless operation, administration, and program management of vital records, vital statistics, and vital events. Under the guidance of the State Registrar, the Data Acquisition Program Officer provides crucial functions including routine correspondence with federal entities including the National Center for Health Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Social Security Administration.
