Join the Violence and Injury Prevention Program (VIPP) team with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services as the Data Abstractor. You will be responsible for conducting a thorough review of medical records for the purpose of extracting violence and injury data for several federal grants awarded to VIPP. You will be responsible for case tracking, reviewing medical records, death certificates, medical examiner records, and toxicology reports for data that will be entered in large databases. The goal of the grants is to increase the timeliness and quality of data in violence and injury surveillance systems to aid in associated risk factor reporting and dissemination of surveillance findings to key stakeholders working to prevent or respond to opioid overdoses.
