About The Position

The DAS Field Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning telecommunication equipment, including routers, switches, access points, and other network devices. This role involves collaborating with design and engineering teams to ensure accurate implementation of network architecture and configurations, as well as performing system testing and troubleshooting to resolve network issues promptly. The engineer will also conduct regular maintenance, respond to network outages, and provide technical support to end-users. Site surveys, documentation of network infrastructure, and field testing and commissioning of telecommunication systems are also key responsibilities. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, effective communication with clients and stakeholders, and participation in knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in commissioning multiple vendor DAS equipment
  • Proven experience as a Telecommunication Field Engineer or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of telecommunication systems, protocols, and technologies (e.g., LTE, 5GNR, TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS).
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment, such as fiber optic distributed antenna systems (DAS), Public Safety BDAs, and wireless access points.
  • Strong understanding of structured & coaxial cabling principles/testing.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and interact with clients professionally.
  • Availability for regular travel to client sites and flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
  • Demonstrated strengths in ability to clarify goals & objectives, build team commitment, analyze and ensure progress toward objectives, identify areas for improvements in processes and knowledge and skills of employees.

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing and commissioning of telecommunication systems to ensure proper functionality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Conduct acceptance tests and verify network performance against specified parameters.
  • Generate comprehensive reports on test results, highlighting any deviations or issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, network engineers, and technicians, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to understand project requirements and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance technical skills and stay updated with emerging technologies.
