About The Position

The Arts & College Preparatory Academy (ACPA) is a charter school in Columbus, Ohio, serving grades 7-12. ACPA is seeking a dedicated and dynamic High School Dance Teacher to join their team. The role involves shaping a dance program with multiple styles, creating an interactive and inclusive learning environment, and empowering students to thrive.

Requirements

Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license
Proper endorsements as required

Responsibilities

Create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with Ohio State Standards for Dance, considering students' needs, ability levels, and skill sets.
Develop and tailor lesson plans and educational materials for equal access to an engaging dance education program.
Facilitate a program that embraces multiple styles of dance including Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Ballet.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring accessibility for all students.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful behavior and active participation.
Collaborate with and be responsive to student voices for programming and opportunities.
Effectively manage class time and student conduct to optimize the learning experience.
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and strategies for success.
