About The Position

Do you love dancing and want to share that joy with others? We are seeking a passionate Dance Instructor who has experience with Tap and other dance styles, and is interested in teaching a variety of dancers, some as young as 3-years old. The ideal candidate has strong technical training, a love for teaching youth, and the ability to inspire students of various ages and skill levels.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Have a strong dance background, whether from a dance degree, professional experience, or participation in dance classes and competitions.
Possess knowledge of ballet, tap, jazz, modern/contemporary, and hip hop.
Have confidence in your ability to teach these styles to different ages.
Ability to work independently.
First Aid/CPR certified within 90 days (District provided).

Responsibilities

Plan and teach dance lessons to students who may be at different ages and/or skill levels.
Create choreography for students to perform in the spring recital.
Build strong positive relationships with students, parents, and co-workers.
Maintain an upbeat, inclusive, and safe class environment while demonstrating strong classroom management abilities.
Potential to coach and choreograph for Youth Competition Teams.
