About The Position

AECOM is expanding its Dams team in Australia and is seeking experienced Senior Dams / Reservoir Engineers, Designers, or Design Managers. This role offers the opportunity to work on nation-defining dams projects, collaborate with global industry specialists, and join a team culture focused on participation and inclusion. The position is based in Australia, with opportunities to be located in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Melbourne, Sydney, or Perth offices. Full relocation and visa support are provided for suitable candidates worldwide. The role involves conceptual to detailed design of water dams, retarding basins, and service basins, as well as inspection, investigation, and condition assessment of existing dams. It also includes safety reviews, client liaison, project management, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Experience in dams or reservoir engineering and design
• Demonstrated capability in design, including the preparation of design reports, design drawings and specifications
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
• You are positive, and see challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant tertiary qualifications & CPEng (highly regarded)

Responsibilities

• Conceptual to detailed design of water dams, retarding basins and service basins.
• Inspection, investigation and condition assessment of existing dams including review and surveillance of monitoring data.
• Safety Reviews with multidisciplinary teams to deliver all aspects.
• Client liaison and management of multiple projects from small to large scale.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
