This role is responsible for accurately locating and marking company facilities, including transmission and distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities. The technician will interpret system maps, work with company crews and outside contractors to prevent damage, and conduct investigations of natural gas facility damages to determine root causes. A key aspect of the role involves maintaining relationships with excavators, municipalities, and company personnel involved in excavation activities, reporting any suspected damages. The technician will also ensure the accuracy of company maps and records related to damage prevention, complete necessary records and reports, and may assist with other operations functions or C&M and Service work. The position may require on-call duties, including shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call-outs, and extended hours, potentially involving travel outside the regular work area. The role also includes identifying and reporting safety and encroachment issues, and ensuring the safe operation and inspection of company vehicles and equipment. Adherence to company values, strategies, policies, and procedures, as well as a commitment to safety and the code of conduct, is essential. Familiarity with and adherence to the Safety Manual and completion of all required safety training are mandatory.
