The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for leading and maintaining the daily operations of the dairy department. This role ensures product availability, freshness, food safety compliance, and an exceptional customer experience while supporting sales growth and team development.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous grocery or dairy department experience preferred
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily dairy department operations including stocking, rotation, inventory control, and merchandising
  • Ensure all products meet company standards for freshness, quality, and proper dating
  • Maintain attractive, full, and well-organized displays that align with company merchandising plans
  • Monitor and adjust orders to meet sales demand while minimizing shrink
  • Supervise, train, and coach dairy clerks to ensure strong performance and engagement
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure completion of all operational priorities
  • Promote a positive, productive work environment focused on safety and teamwork
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management in partnership with store leadership
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries and needs
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate when necessary
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming department that enhances the shopping experience
  • Ensure accurate inventory practices including proper receiving and storage procedures
  • Execute product rotation (FIFO) to reduce out-of-date product and shrink
  • Identify and address shrink opportunities and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain strict adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure proper temperature controls and monitoring of all dairy products
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements
