About The Position

The Dairy Supervisor oversees daily dairy department operations to ensure product freshness, proper rotation, accurate inventory, and consistent merchandising standards. This role leads dairy associates, maintains food safety and temperature controls, and supports sales and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of dairy handling, temperature control, and food safety standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated environments
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One or more years of dairy, grocery, or retail experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily dairy department operations, including stocking, rotation, and display execution
  • Ensure milk, eggs, and dairy products meet freshness, quality, and temperature standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory through ordering, receiving, and backstock control
  • Enforce proper FIFO rotation, date checking, and removal of out‑of‑date product
  • Lead, train, and coach dairy associates on standards, safety, and productivity
  • Maintain clean, organized coolers, sales floor, and backroom dairy areas
  • Execute planograms, resets, and promotional displays per company direction
  • Monitor shrink, damages, and spoilage; take corrective action as needed
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Communicate department needs, performance issues, and staffing concerns to store leadership
  • Support overall store operations and assist with coverage as business needs require
