About The Position

Mollie Stone’s Markets is looking for a Full-Time Dairy Manager at our Grand Central location in San Francisco. The perfect candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective daily operations of the dairy department, including product receiving, stocking, rotation, merchandising, cleanliness, and customer service. This role supports overall store excellence by maintaining product quality, adhering to food safety standards, and creating an organized, well‑presented department that meets company and regulatory requirements. The position may function as a department lead (Dairy Manager) or support staff (Grocery/ Clerk), depending on store needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in grocery retail, dairy, or refrigerated department operations (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. repeatedly, stand/walk for extended periods, and tolerate cold working environments.
  • Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain full and organized dairy cases throughout the day, ensuring shelves are properly stocked, faced, and rotated using first‑in, first‑out (FIFO) principles.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify accuracy of dairy deliveries, report discrepancies or quality issues promptly.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of refrigerated products, including monitoring and documenting temperature logs as required.
  • Maintain department cleanliness, including cases, storage coolers, display equipment, and work areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Assist customers with product inquiries, special orders, and general service needs in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Identify and pull expired, damaged, or non‑compliant products; follow company disposal and documentation procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely (pallet jacks, dollies, case cutters, pricing tools, etc.) and report maintenance needs.
  • Support inventory management through regular counts, shrink control, and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Comply with all store policies, food safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Set and achieve the highest standards.
  • Supervise, schedule and assign duties to the Team Members.
  • Provide our customers with exceptional customer service.
  • Interview, train, develop all Team Members in a manner which builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turnover.
  • Establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages an exceptionally high level of Team Member morale.
  • Manage inventory and pricing to achieve required margin and labor targets.
  • Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
