About The Position
The Dairy Management Support Specialist is a key member of a valuable team, integral in data movement and returning information to dairy producers. Primary duties include supporting the integration between on-farm data collection and herd management software and reporting, which is critical for other data systems such as milking, activity monitoring, and feeding systems. Other responsibilities include guiding customers and consultants on how best to use their software products, executing farm management strategies, and evaluating current performance to identify areas of opportunity. Extensive training and mentoring will be provided to ensure success and support long-term growth.
Requirements
- BS in Animal Science or equivalent degree
- Previous experience working on a dairy farm
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Valid driver's license
Nice To Haves
- Experience breeding, treating/caring for animals, or managing staff who performed this function
- Experience using herd management software
- Sales experience
Responsibilities
- Support the integration between on-farm data collection and herd management software and reporting.
- Guide customers and consultants on how best to use their software products.
- Execute farm management strategies and evaluate current performance to identify areas of opportunity.
- Interact with DHI Technicians to expedite and valuate testday, providing support via phone, text, email, and screen sharing applications.
- Conduct on-site visits to install, train, and support herd management software.
- Participate in marketing activities such as attending industry meetings.
- Remain current on changes in supported software.
- Seek opportunities to build knowledge and expertise in related fields.
