About The Position

This position provides stocking support for the Dairy Department, contributing to a positive shopping and working environment. The primary focus is on stocking, sorting, and display building to maximize department sales and product availability. Key learning challenges include product location and developing efficient stocking speed. The role requires ongoing light lifting, walking, use of a box cutter and pallet jack, and strong social, listening, reading, and decision-making skills. Functions and work hours may vary based on business needs, with assignments and direction provided by the Dairy Manager or person in charge.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform sorting and stocking of dairy product, including completing assignments in allotted time, handling cases properly to avoid product damage, sorting, stocking, and ensuring correct placement and facing on shelves, and working overstock.
  • Fill and rotate dairy cases and displays, ensuring they are full, clean, and attractive. Maintain proper refrigeration, handle product properly to avoid damage, separate outdated or unfit product, set cases and displays according to instructions, and ensure proper pricing and complete documents.
  • Perform clean-up of the sales floor and backroom, including picking up and compacting cardboard, stacking pallets, cleaning spills, storing overstock, returning items to shelves, and handling damaged items appropriately.
  • Assist customers with product location and price checks by answering questions, assisting with product location, taking customers directly to items, and referring customers to the proper area or individual for help.
  • Respond to department phone calls in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Assist with product resets.
  • Follow all store and department policies and procedures.
