About The Position

The Dairy Clerk assists the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Dairy Department. This role involves supervising and training personnel, managing inventory, stocking shelves, and ensuring excellent customer service. The position also supports grocery department merchandising and may act as a backup cashier. This is a SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION, meaning job responsibilities include tasks that could affect the safety or health of the employee or others.

Requirements

• Must comply with Company, Division and Store policies and applicable laws.
• Ability to train, teach and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards.
• Ability to assist with grocery department merchandising and building displays.
• Ability to manage backroom inventory, conditions and standards.
• Ability to assist with the reclamation process.
• Ability to work on new items.
• Ability to assist with grocery stocking and conditioning.
• Ability to assist with the “dry grocery” order writing.
• Ability to order Dairy merchandise.
• Ability to prevent the sale of out of code product.
• Ability to process and discard outdated and spoiled products.
• Ability to clean and dust shelves.
• Ability to rotate and face product.
• Ability to assist the Grocery Manager in planning, organizing regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
• Ability to engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
• Ability to encourage and maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on safe, friendly, and courteous service.
• Ability to assist in ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays.
• Ability to supervise and train personnel.

• Works on new items.
