About The Position

The Dairy Clerk is responsible for ensuring adequate stock levels through proper ordering and inventory management. This role involves maintaining optimal inventory, preventing spoilage and outdated products, ensuring accurate pricing, and creating appealing product displays. The Dairy Clerk also collaborates with supervisors on work schedules, manages product returns, understands key operational metrics like sales and gross profit, and maintains department records. For those in supervisory roles, this includes training and evaluating team members. The position requires staying informed about the competitive market and acting as a professional example for colleagues.

Requirements

Minimum age: 18 Years
Regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach.
Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination.
Hear and respond to customer inquiries.
Standing, walking and bending throughout the entire workday.
Ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.

Responsibilities

Ensures adequate stock by proper ordering so that inventories can be maintained at optimum levels.
Maintains effective inventory control to guard against spoilage and outdated product.
Ensures proper stock rotations.
Ensures pricing is accurate and legible.
Creates eye-appealing displays that are full and faced.
Plans out work schedules with direct supervisor and ensures they complement both the department and the rest of the store.
Ensures prompt return of product and maintains compliance with company policies regarding proper receipt of incoming supplier products.
Maintains adequate and appropriate department records at all times.
Provides proper training to team members if supervising.
Works with direct supervisor ensuring evaluations and any disciplinary concerns are handled properly and timely.
Stays aware of the surrounding competitive market and promptly reacts to product and price concerns.
Provides a professional example for other team members to follow.
