About The Position

The Daily Sub Permitted Teacher plays a critical role in maintaining continuity and quality of education by stepping in to deliver instruction in the absence of regular classroom teachers. This position requires adaptability to various grade levels and subjects, ensuring that students remain engaged and on track with their learning objectives. The teacher will be responsible for implementing lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or creating appropriate instructional activities when plans are not available. This role demands strong classroom management skills to foster a positive and productive learning environment. Ultimately, the Daily Sub Permitted Teacher supports the school’s mission by providing consistent, effective teaching that meets the diverse needs of students across the United States.

Requirements

  • Valid teaching certification or permit recognized by the state in which the position is held.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; 60+ credit hours in a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom and deliver instruction effectively.
  • Clear background check and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Strong communication skills and basic proficiency with educational technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a substitute teacher or in a similar educational role.
  • Familiarity with multiple grade levels and subject areas.
  • Training in classroom management techniques and differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement various school curricula and teaching tools.
  • Additional certifications or endorsements relevant to specific subject areas or special education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver daily instruction in accordance with lesson plans or curriculum guidelines provided by the regular teacher or school administration.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs and learning styles of students.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and, when appropriate, parents regarding student progress and classroom issues.
  • Report on daily activities, student attendance, and any incidents or concerns to the appropriate school personnel.
