Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Science related field
• Complete cytology program
• 1 year or more of experience in cytotechnology to include experience on both GYN and NonGyn diagnostics
• CT (ASCP)

Responsibilities

• Prepares and examines samples for evidence of pathological conditions, following established standards and practices.
• Receives specimens sent to the laboratory and plans the method of specimen processing.
• Assists physicians with fine needle aspirations.
• Reports/maintains patient test results in an accurate/timely manner.
• Stains, cover slips slides and microscopically examines specimens.
• Presents slides to Pathologist for examination.
• Maintains required records, reports, and statistics as directed.
• Maintains good relations with all staff and clients that use clients that use cytology services.
• Diagnose and report cytology cases accurately.
