This role involves examining and interpreting gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens accurately and efficiently, following established laboratory procedures. The Cytotechnologist will issue final diagnoses for negative GYN cytology cases and submit all non-GYN results for pathologist review and final report release. Responsibilities include verifying specimen acceptability and patient identification, maintaining quality control and CLIA/DHMH compliance documentation, and assisting with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures. The position also requires accurate data entry into Cerner, proactive expansion of technical knowledge, and effective communication with healthcare professionals to foster a collaborative lab culture.
