The Cytotechnologist will receive and prepare specimens for technical and diagnostic procedures. This includes working with stains, mounts, and labels slides, ensuring they exactly match corresponding requisition forms. The role involves processing all non-gyn specimens to maximize cellular component deposition on glass slides and assisting Physicians with sample collection procedures at the patient bedside. A key responsibility is performing slide interpretation and preparing and maintaining necessary reagents. Additionally, the Cytotechnologist will answer telephones for the department, relaying test results and other relevant information.
