Requirements

  • Associate degree in Cytology required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cytology required
  • Other completion of training from an approved school of Cytotechnology
  • CT (ASCP) Cytotechnologist required upon hire
  • CT (IAC) Cytotechnologist required upon hire
  • SCT (ASCP) Specialist in Cytotechnology required upon hire
  • Candidates should have practical experience in cytology technical screening and specimen processing, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of Cytology experience highly preferred
  • 1 year of hospital specialty preferred
  • Experience with FNA procedures is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Specimen Processing
  • Stain/Equipment maintenance
  • Assists in obtaining fine needle aspiration biopsies and preparing and staining slides for rapid assessment by the pathologist.
  • Maintains knowledge of computer software applications and uses computer applications competently as related to the specific task required for each assigned job responsibility.
