Requirements

Associate degree in Cytology required
Bachelor’s degree in Cytology required
Other completion of training from an approved school of Cytotechnology
CT (ASCP) Cytotechnologist required upon hire
CT (IAC) Cytotechnologist required upon hire
SCT (ASCP) Specialist in Cytotechnology required upon hire
Candidates should have practical experience in cytology technical screening and specimen processing, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures.

Nice To Haves

3 years of Cytology experience highly preferred
1 year of hospital specialty preferred
Experience with FNA procedures is highly preferred

Responsibilities

Specimen Processing
Stain/Equipment maintenance
Assists in obtaining fine needle aspiration biopsies and preparing and staining slides for rapid assessment by the pathologist.
Maintains knowledge of computer software applications and uses computer applications competently as related to the specific task required for each assigned job responsibility.
