About The Position

Under the direction of a Pathologist, is responsible for the fixation, preparation and quantitative and qualitative analysis of human cell samples, as well as record keeping and documentation of daily work, diagnostic results and quality control. Cytotechnologists perform specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions. These samples include GYN, Non-GYN and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) specimens collected from all anatomic sites. Provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow.
  • Excellent decision making skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of disease process represented in cells.
  • Florida Cytotechnologist License
  • Less than one year of experience - graduate of Cytotechnology program

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of formal training at an accredited school of cytotechnology.
  • College degree in related area.
  • 1-2 years of experience in cytotechnology.
  • Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in Cytology
