The Cytotechnologist will be responsible for accurately screening cytologic specimens from both gynecologic and non-gynecologic sources. This role involves documenting slide interpretation results, assessing and troubleshooting stain preparations, and processing routine cytology slides. The position also includes assisting in training new employees, mentoring technicians, and adhering to all safety policies and regulations. The Cytotechnologist will handle infectious biological specimens, chemicals, and irritants safely, utilize computer applications, and ensure proper work area coverage. Additionally, they will ensure timely distribution of patient materials, report instrumentation malfunctions, protect patient confidentiality, and cross-train in other areas as assigned. The role requires performing other duties as assigned or requested.
