Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production. This role involves logging, tracking, accessioning, and troubleshooting specimens, using a computer imaging system to karyotype metaphases, performing routine instrument maintenance, monitoring inventory, and documenting all pertinent information. The technician will maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition, communicate regularly with supervisors, and complete training as appropriate. Adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, Quality, and laboratory safety requirements is mandatory, including the use of personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and work practice controls.
