About The Position

Cylindrical Grinder Operator Join us at Superior Forge & Steel. The Grinder Operator is a member of our Machining Department responsible for operating a grinding machine to finish our forged rolls to customer specifications.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous machining experience required
• Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment and/or heavy machinery required
• Must be able to read/interpret blueprints
• Proficient in micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
• Good math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Verifiable employment history
• Must be able to pass criminal background check, drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operation of grinder
• Reviewing and interpreting blueprints
• Grinding rolls to blueprint specification
• Preventative maintenance
• Keep complete and accurate production records
• Verify work assignments
• Maintain production requirements and specified tolerances
• Perform other department duties, as assigned
