About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Cylinder Requalifier in Charlestown, NH. This role provides general assistance in the plant, including painting cylinders, valve/de-valve cylinders, and general cylinder movement and handling throughout the plant, including loading trucks. The Cylinder Requalifier may operate a forklift and coordinates the movement of gas cylinders and/or other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers, navigating cylinders safely with proper carts. This role involves organizing empty cylinders by type, assisting with inventory by checking cylinder quantities, styles, and products, and reviewing customer orders to prepare items from inventory for delivery. The position also contributes to basic cylinder maintenance, such as painting and labeling, and maintaining a clean, professional work area. A strong commitment to personal health and safety, adherence to safety guidelines, and prompt reporting of any accidents or injuries are essential. The role requires reliability and the ability to align with hourly work schedules, collaborating with other department employees to ensure operational success and supporting the team with other tasks as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Willingness to learn and become knowledgeable of hazards associated with high pressure cylinder tanks.
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Ability to perform very heavy work—routinely lift 25 to 75 lb., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lb.
Also required to push and pull liquid containers weighing up to 1000 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion required.
Ability to perform work which includes routine climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities including the tightening of ratchet binders.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience operating a forklift and pallet jack is preferred.
Ability to safely drive a forklift.

Responsibilities

Provides general assistance in the plant, including painting cylinders, valve/de-valve cylinders, and general cylinder movement and handling throughout the plant including the loading of trucks.
May operate a forklift.
Coordinates the movement of gas cylinders and/or other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers, navigating cylinders safely with proper carts.
Rolls cylinders and utilizes a forklift truck for the efficient movement of inventory.
Organizes empty cylinders by type to maintain an efficient workflow.
Assists with inventory by checking for cylinder quantities, styles, and products.
Reviews customer orders and prepares items from inventory to ensure trucks are ready for delivery.
Contributes to basic cylinder maintenance, such as painting and labeling.
Helps maintain a clean, professional work area.
Ensures safety guidelines are diligently followed and promptly shares any accidents or injuries with management.
Actively fosters a safe environment by communicating any unsafe actions or conditions to a supervisor immediately.
Collaborates with other department employees to ensure operational success.
Supports the team with other tasks as the need arises.
