About The Position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is hiring a Cylinder Maintenance Technician in Toledo, Ohio, for a second-shift role. The technician inspects, tests, converts, and repairs gas cylinders and related valves, maintains certifications required to certify retested cylinders, and supports cylinder handling with a forklift. The role also includes receiving supplies, identifying defective cylinders, painting, housekeeping, and light plant maintenance to help maintain a clean and safe work environment. Employees may be assigned additional tasks by their manager.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift and handle 40–70 pounds as needed.
Mechanical inclination and a strong, self-motivated work ethic.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the gas industry or cylinder maintenance.

Responsibilities

Perform visual and physical inspections of cylinders before filling to determine whether retesting or repairs are required.
Conduct cylinder conversions, including de-valving, valving, stripping, and repairing valves.
Operate hydrostatic and ultrasonic cylinder testers.
Maintain the certifications required to properly certify cylinders as retested.
Operate a forklift to support material handling and movement of cylinders.
Receive incoming cylinders, valves, and cylinder maintenance supplies.
Diagnose and repair cylinder neck leaks and safety-related leaks.
Inspect and identify defective cylinders, scrapping them when appropriate.
Perform painting, housekeeping, and light plant maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform additional job tasks as required by the manager.
