About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Cylinder Filler in Miami, FL. This role involves coordinating cylinder filling to streamline handling, filling cylinders based on stock and customer requirements, and performing thorough checks on new and return cylinders. Responsibilities include inspecting cylinders for test dates, accessories, paint, and valves, sorting them for filling or maintenance, and supporting the maintenance of treatment equipment like hydrotest machines and painting equipment. The role also includes performing leak tests, painting cylinders according to compliance standards, supporting cylinder testing, and assisting with valving, de-valving, drying, and vacuum baking of cylinders. Ensuring cylinders conform to gas type and color standards, initializing GTS barcodes, and supporting the replacement of defective accessories are also key duties. Additionally, the Cylinder Filler will install caps and valves, attach stickers, and perform quality checks, including dew point checks, to maintain product integrity.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• Technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
• Industrial Gas Experience.
• Functional testing on analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the cylinder filling to streamline cylinder handling.
• Fill the cylinder on stock before out-off.
• Fill the cylinder to cover customer requirements after out-off.
• Perform attentive review of new and return cylinders & bundles, checking year test or tube accessories, paints, valves, caps, etc.
• Check condition of frame bundles and manifold, and sort between ready-to-fill cylinders and bundles and cylinder and bundles to maintenance area.
• Support the treatment equipment such as hydrotest machine, dryer, painting equipment, and oven before operation to be safe and ensure they can be operated properly.
• Perform cylinder or valve leak test before installing using soapy water.
• Paint the cylinder in accordance with government compliance and standards.
• Support cylinder testing with hydrotest machine in accordance with government regulation.
• Support valving / de-valving of cylinder in accordance with AL safety standards.
• Support drying & vacuum bake oven of cylinders.
• Foster the conformity of the cylinders according to the color and its gas.
• Foster a smooth handover process of cylinders to the filling area.
• Initialize GTS barcode on the cylinder after the maintenance process.
• Support the replacement of defect accessories.
• Install the cap and valve type according to gas and cylinder allocation.
• Attach stickers according to product specifications and grades.
• Support quality check of dew point check per batch cylinder VBO as product specification needed.
• Foster the integrity of quality of all products.
• Ideally, qualified to do functional testing on analyzers.
