About The Position

The Cylinder Driver Delivery Driver delivers propane cylinders to company and established customer locations by assigned routes while operating and maintaining truck in a safe manner. As part of the delivery process, the driver tracks cylinder inventory movement, verifies proper placement and signage on cylinder cages, and communicates with customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
  • Ability and willingness to become propane (PEP) certified as determined by the state(s) served within 90 days of employment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirements
  • Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions
  • Ability to move and position self to move propane cylinders and place cylinder cages weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers in English
  • Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking device
  • Ability to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditions, including daily travel through a multi-county area
  • Availability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as needed
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road test

Responsibilities

  • Safely load, transport, deliver, and unload propane cylinders to and from company and customer locations on a scheduled route in a multi-county area
  • Safely operate vehicle according to MFA Oil Company policies and guidelines, state and federal transportation laws, and other related regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Properly use handheld systems for routing instructions and to record and track pick-ups and deliveries
  • Ensure appropriate placement of cylinder cages at customer locations, and verify cages are in good order with marketing materials and required signage in place
  • Fill propane cylinders, as required
  • Identify and timely communicate to management issues and feedback related to cage placement and signage, safety, efficiency, training needs and customer needs, questions, or concerns
  • Communicate with customers regarding supply needs, cage upkeep, lease documentation, etc.
  • Present a positive image of MFA Oil Company to the community and be knowledgeable about all products and services offered by the company
  • Support and understand company policies and procedures and be able to communicate those to customers as needed
  • Maintain all required certifications
  • Maintain truck in a neat and clean condition
