About The Position

The Cycle Counter position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory data in our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and providing support as needed in the Inventory department. This role requires daily Cycle Counting and inventory maintenance of packaging, film, condiments, trailers, and Finished Goods inventories. The position also involves accurate data entry and file maintenance in SAP and JDA, following proper documentation procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and other company procedures. The Cycle Counter will interface with warehouse operations and production, review and explain inventory variances, and research MUV (Material Usage Variance) as required by the Accounting department or Inventory Manager. Additionally, the role involves reporting Peco Inventory weekly with explanations for variances, maintaining readily available files, and utilizing manual and automated material handling equipment. Communication with Production, Scheduling, Purchasing, Transportation, and Customer Service teams is essential, along with adherence to safety and hygiene guidelines. The position supports Continuous Improvement initiatives like 5S and may perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-year experience in a warehousing environment
  • Ability to operate sit-down forklift
  • Certified to drive material handling equipment
  • Experience using computer to enter records

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with JDA or similar based WMS system
  • Previous forklift experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Daily Cycle Counting and inventory maintenance of packaging, film, condiments, trailers, and Finished Goods inventories.

  • Maintain files so that they are readily available for review.
  • Utilize manual and automated material handling equipment.
  • Transport stored items within the warehouse.
  • Communicate with Production, Scheduling, Purchasing, Transportation, and Customer Service Team on a regular basis.
  • Practice and adhere to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.
  • Keep work area clean and remove trash from work area floor.
  • Store supplies in designated areas.
  • Keep work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions.
  • Follow instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identify/report defective equipment.
  • Report all job-related injuries to supervision.
  • Use computer to enter records.
  • Support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
