This is a Finance position responsible for performing cycle counts, compiling and maintaining records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, and/or supplies stocked in the establishment and/or items to be returned. The role ensures the integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory in accordance with FAMM, completes a minimum of four (4) cyclical counts per year (one full count per quarter), and counts all pre-designated high dollar items, preparing research and reports for these counts. The position also involves notifying proper personnel of problems that may occur when adjusting these items, researching receiving packets returned to Inventory Control from Accounts Payable, and preparing and reporting any errors that may have occurred to the Inventory Control Manager. Additionally, the Cycle Counter reviews and adjusts all damage reports given to Inventory Control by Operations, compares those reports with actual damage in the warehouse, and researches and corrects possible shipping problems reported to Inventory Control. The role requires compliance with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies, including Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role, and assisting the Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program. The individual must comply with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality, and legality requirements are met, work safely with minimal environmental impact, and understand the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor. They play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and are willing to speak out when hazards are present.
