About The Position

Manages and administers inventory functions by performing the following duties. This role is responsible for managing and administering data extracted from systems, investigating system data flows through complex reports, and presenting findings to leadership. It also oversees system planning for the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies, develops and documents process improvements to achieve company inventory goals, and coordinates with accounting to ensure inventory accuracy and alignment between subledgers and the general ledger. The position assists with inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities, monitors inventory against planned picked production material usage, and coordinates with IT services for system tool development. Additionally, it assesses and monitors warehouse inventory transactions for accuracy, manages materials management functions including planning, storage, kitting, inventory control, and distribution, and ensures the accuracy of the inventory control system. The role develops policies and procedures for material flow and inventory tracking, coordinates material requisitions with purchasing, and monitors in-plant transfers to meet production schedules. It also arranges transportation of materials, verifies delivered materials, investigates and solves problems related to material shortages, and encourages continuous idea generation for process improvement. Ensuring 5S is applied daily, following updated schedules to meet ship dates, and monitoring quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan are also key responsibilities. The role requires regular attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work on-site, cooperatively with others, and respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, employees, managers, and executive management. It also involves the ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, work in a fast-paced environment, and interchange with others in the department. Finally, the role is responsible for training team members on inventory-related movements and transactions within the system and communicating system impacts to other departments.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in general management in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in warehouse/inventory management

  • Assess and monitor warehouse inventory transactions for accuracy.
  • Manages and administers materials management functions, such as the planning, storage, kitting, inventory control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
  • Oversees the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department priorities.
  • Responsible for inventory accountability and accuracy.
  • Assures that maintenance of the inventory control system is accurate.
  • Develops policies and procedures to ensure timely flow of materials and for tracking the physical inventory.
  • Coordinates requisition of material with purchasing department and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material.
  • Monitor in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Arranges transportation of required materials with department supervisors for delivery to various departments.
  • Examines material delivered to the production departments to verify it is the type specified.
  • Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages.
  • Routine trouble shooting and problem solving, including finding ways of improvement for long-term solution.
  • Encourage continuous idea generation from team members for continuous process improvement in cost, time, and safety.
  • Ensure 5S (workplace organization method in the area with good housekeeping manner) is being applied on a daily basis.
  • Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates.
  • Monitor quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and the ability to work on–site.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
  • Responsible for training team members within the department on inventory related movements and transactions within the system.
  • Communicate clear and concise to other departments on system impacts to their department.
