About The Position

Peraton is seeking an experienced Cyberspace Joint Operations Planner to join our USCYBERCOM team located in Fort Meade, MD. This role involves providing input for the development of TTPs, CONOPs, COAs, and other related documents for Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), securing, operating, and defending the DODIN, and Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO). The planner will analyze and evaluate current and emerging threats to U.S. Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CI/KR), and demonstrate knowledge of Mission Relevant Terrain – in Cyberspace (MRT – C) and Task Critical Asset (TCA) nomination and management. A key aspect of the role is expertise in securing, operating, and defending DODIN, and planning and conducting DCO. Experience with Cyber Protection Team (CPT) C2, management, and deployment is also required. The position involves monitoring and reviewing strategies, doctrine, policies, directives, and instructions from higher echelon headquarters, and making recommendations for compliance or consideration in planning efforts. The planner will develop plans and orders using the JOPP within APEX activities, and provide input for briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, and coordinating joint operational planning for training, exercises, combat, and contingency plans. This includes developing and integrating cyberspace capabilities into various planning phases and contributing to exercise scenario development. The role requires participation in Joint Planning Groups (JPGs) and Operational Planning Groups/Teams (OPG/OPTs), and knowledge of the USCYBERCOM Cyber Force Mission Alignment Process.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Joint Operation Planner and a complete working knowledge of the JOPP, JOPES, and APEX planning formats and guidance.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum specialized education in military joint operation planning through the JPME II from a CJCS accredited joint education program listed in CJCSI 1800.01E. The JIOPC, or other similar military operation planning courses, may be substituted for JPME II.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Four years of planning experience may be substituted with completion of an advanced Service planner school (SAMS, SAASS, JAWS, etc).
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input for the development of TTPs, CONOPs, COAs, and other related documents related to DCO, the securing, operating, and defending of the DODIN, OCO.
  • Understands, analyzes, and evaluates current and emerging threats to U.S. Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CI/KR).
  • Knowledgeable of and understands Mission Relevant Terrain – in Cyberspace (MRT – C) and Task Critical Asset (TCA) nomination and management.
  • Expert in securing, operating, and defending DODIN, planning and conducting Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO).
  • Knowledge and experience in Cyber Protection Team (CPT) C2, management, and deployment.
  • Monitors and reviews strategies, doctrine, policies, directives, and instructions from higher echelon headquarters and makes recommendations to ensure compliance and/or consideration in planning efforts.
  • Develops plans and orders through the application of operational art and operational design, and by using the JOPP, within the milestones, deliverables, and interaction points for plans developed using Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) activities.
  • Provides input to briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, and assisting in the coordination of joint operational planning in support of training, exercises, combat, and contingency plans and operations.
  • Develops and integrates cyberspace capabilities into deliberate, contingency, operation, and crisis action planning.
  • Provides input to address shortfalls, prioritize and validate requirements, and be prepared to modify development planning efforts based on the changing cyberspace environment.
  • Contributes to the development of exercise scenarios, exercise operational plans, and other required documentation to support planning and execution to accomplish USCYBERCOM exercise training priorities.
  • Participates in Joint Planning Groups (JPGs), and Operational Planning Groups/Teams (OPG/OPTs).
  • Knowledge of USCYBERCOM Cyber Force Mission Alignment Process.
