About The Position

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, ISSO for a great opportunity Annapolis Junction, MD. The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will play a key role in securing complex systems, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and protecting sensitive information. A DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 is required. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph security clearance. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

Requirements

  • Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 or higher required.
  • Possession of a DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 or higher certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.
  • Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 5 years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Need 10 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Experience to include at least one of the following areas: Knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Information Systems Security Approval Authority for systems under your control.
  • Provide technical and compliance support for the organization’s Information Assurance (IA) program.
  • Plan, coordinate, and enforce IT security programs across various systems and projects.
  • Maintaining the operational security posture for mission-critical information systems.
  • Developing and enforcing information system security policies, standards, and methodologies.
  • Supporting day-to-day security operations, including system monitoring and incident response.
  • Conducting vulnerability and risk assessments to support system certification and accreditation (C&A).
  • Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for handling classified data.
  • Managing system configuration, changes, and security impact assessments.
  • Preparing and reviewing key documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment - Reports, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) Packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
