About The Position

SAIC seeks a motivated and experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in the operational maintenance and sustainment of ground‑based radars critical to U.S. and Allied missile warning, space surveillance, and strategic defense missions. Working closely with government customers, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer, the ISSO will lead cybersecurity compliance efforts for PARCS and UEWR systems, ensuring RMF accreditation packages, security documentation, and vulnerability findings are accurate, actionable, and aligned with mission needs. This position requires strong technical judgment, clear and consistent communication with customers and internal stakeholders, and the ability to translate complex cybersecurity requirements into practical, mission‑ready solutions. The role is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

  • Experience with ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans
  • Experience with audit activities supporting ongoing authorization

Responsibilities

  • Lead the update, correction, and sustainment of RMF ATO packages, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements
  • Execute the migration from RMF Rev 4 to RMF Rev 5 by identifying gaps, updating control implementations, and coordinating evidence collection
  • Analyze, track, and reduce POA&Ms by validating findings, developing remediation recommendations, and coordinating closure with system engineering teams
  • Conduct system assessments including STIG compliance checks (STIG Viewer, SCAP), ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans, and audit activities supporting ongoing authorization
  • Communicate technical risks, security requirements, and accreditation status clearly to government customers and program leadership, ensuring shared understanding and timely decision-making.
