About The Position

Sentinel is looking for a motivated and curious individual to join our Cybersecurity team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to build hands-on experience with enterprise cybersecurity solutions in a highly collaborative Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. In this position, you will apply your knowledge in a real-world setting, helping to monitor, analyze, and respond to security events. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including networking, systems, and support teams to strengthen and maintain the organization’s security posture. This is a full-time 3rd shift position based onsite at our office in Downers Grove, IL. The hours for this role are 11:00pm CST - 09:30am CST Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience/certifications.
  • Experience with monitoring and analyzing alerts from SIEM, EDR, and related systems to identify potential threats.
  • Exposure to ticketing systems and basic case management workflows.
  • Must have a car.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude.
  • Display the "ACE" factor – Attitude, Compassion, and Enthusiasm to deliver quality solutions with exceptional customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ITIL, or similar are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including networking, systems, and support teams to strengthen and maintain the organization’s security posture.
  • Assist in developing and delivering monthly security awareness communications and training.
  • Monitor and analyze alerts from SIEM, EDR, and related systems to identify potential threats.
  • Assist with triage and escalation of security events.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including documentation, evidence gathering, and reporting.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as needed to support incident response and critical security events.
  • Travel between locations and transport equipment.
