About The Position

The Opportunity: To achieve an organization’s mission, leaders need strong team members who can lead activities to maintain and improve cybersecurity products, provide expert guidance, and implement cybersecurity solutions. Whether completing an immediate task, recognizing a process gap, recommending a solution, or flexing to support an emerging requirement, our clients need a specialist who can help manage operations while managing responses to external inquiries in a timely manner. That is why we need an experienced Cybersecurity Operations Lead like you who can integrate applicable cybersecurity policies. As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical advisor to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You’ll work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems, and leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision makers. You’ll also maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating commercialization of successfully developed technologies. You'll serve as a Cybersecurity Operations Lead helping clients to maintain and improve our client’s cybersecurity operations, implement and maintain security content, and provide expert recommendations. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity
  • Experience with the implementation of cybersecurity policies
  • Experience with NIST cybersecurity requirements
  • Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • CISSP or CISM Certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on activities to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threat activity.
  • Implement, maintain, and optimize security content such as rules, signatures, and alerts, to enhance the detection of threat actors and their activity.
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to the ARPA-H CISO on modern policies, procedures, and processes for securing and defending the agency's systems.
