About The Position

Cydecor is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support a large Navy readiness reporting program. This role involves a mix of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment, vulnerability management, and day-to-day cybersecurity engineering across an interconnected set of applications. The position requires interaction with eMASS, scan results, developers, sysadmins, and a small cyber team. This role focuses on the operational aspects of cybersecurity, including maintaining system accreditations, addressing security findings, and documenting processes for clarity and continuity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering.
  • 3+ years specialized in network security (firewalls, IPS, access controls, cross-domain solutions).
  • 3+ years implementing RMF for DoD systems.
  • Hands-on eMASS experience.
  • Comfortable using scanners (ACAS/Nessus or equivalent), applying STIGs, and managing POA&Ms.
  • Experience triaging and dispositioning IAVAs and other cybersecurity directives.
  • IAM Level II Information Assurance Certification (per DoDI 8570.01-M and SECNAV M-5239.2), or equivalent under DoDM 8140.03 at Basic or Intermediate proficiency.
  • DoD Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP, CISM, CySA+, GSEC, or similar certification.
  • Qualified Navy Validator designation.
  • Prior work on Navy or DoD systems.
  • Cloud security experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain RMF accreditation packages in eMASS, including security plans, control evidence, test results, and POA&Ms.
  • Triage and disposition IAVAs and other cybersecurity directives, tracking remediation to closure.
  • Support ATO submissions and ongoing continuous-monitoring efforts as systems and their environments evolve.
  • Apply STIGs, run vulnerability scans, and recommend/implement fixes that effectively close findings.
  • Document all work to ensure clarity and continuity for others.
  • Keep skills current with the evolving DoD cyber landscape.
  • Communicate findings and risks clearly, both in writing and verbally.
  • Help build reusable team patterns and procedures to streamline future tasks.
  • Own assigned work and escalate significant problems promptly.
