The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for proposing, developing, installing, managing, operating, maintaining, integrating, and configuring a comprehensive suite of cybersecurity tools that support enterprise network cybersecurity operations. These tools provide protection across endpoints, peripherals, data, email, web, and network infrastructures within multiple environments, including CorpsNet, SIPRNet, cloud implementations, DMZs, network boundaries, and endpoint devices. The role supports the full incident response lifecycle and ensures secure, resilient, and compliant defensive cyberspace operations across classified and unclassified environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or 4 years additional equivalent experience
  • Experience proposing, developing, installing, managing, operating, maintaining, integrating, and configuring enterprise-level cybersecurity tools
  • Proficiency in the following cybersecurity capabilities:
  • Must possess an active Secret level security clearance or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating multiple security tools into centralized SIEM solutions
  • Familiarity with incident response processes and cyber defense operations
  • Experience developing and maintaining security architecture documentation
  • Relevant DoD 8570/8140 baseline certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+)

Responsibilities

  • Propose, develop, install, integrate, configure, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity tools supporting USACE networks and systems
  • Operate and maintain cybersecurity capabilities across CorpsNet, SIPRNet, cloud, DMZ, boundary protection, and endpoint environments
  • Ensure proper configuration, secure baselines, and continuous operational effectiveness of cybersecurity tools
  • Monitor system and resource utilization, ensuring performance, availability, and scalability
  • Perform continuous tuning and optimization of cybersecurity tools to enhance threat detection and prevention
  • Support deployment and integration of new cybersecurity technologies and capabilities
  • Manage system backups, restorations, and continuity of operations for cybersecurity platforms
  • Develop, update, and maintain cybersecurity documentation, security plans, and standard operating procedures
  • Integrate and correlate security data into SIEM platforms to support monitoring, analysis, and incident response
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network architecture and security diagrams
  • Support vulnerability scanning, compliance validation, and defensive cyberspace operations infrastructure
  • Collaborate with network, system, and security teams to support enterprise cybersecurity objectives
