About The Position

The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure, networks, and data. This role involves assessing vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in cybersecurity, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally to enhance the organization’s security posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, information technology or related field, or combination of experience and education.
  • 5+ years of experience cybersecurity, network security, or related fields
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.
  • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Experience (Nessus / Tenable Security Center).
  • Experience performing RMF assessments and compliance audits using STIG Viewer and SCAP.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience sustaining Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as UEWR, PAVE PAWS, or PARCS.
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.
  • Experience supporting assessment and authorization (A&A) of DoD systems.
  • Experience with enclave and network security within classified environments.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Space Force technical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build security architectures.
  • Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures.
  • Design cybersecurity architectural artifacts.
  • Provide architectural analysis of cybersecurity features and relate existing system to future needs and trends.
  • Provide engineering recommendations and resolve integration and testing issues.
  • Perform passive evaluations such as compliance audits using STIG Viewer, SCAP, etc. and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments utilizing tools such as ACAS.
  • Investigate and remediate security incidents, vulnerabilities, and breaches.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop cyber requirements to DoD 8570/8140 standards.
  • Perform assessments of RMF artifacts and identify where those artifacts deviate from RMF control requirements.
  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and support obtaining assessment and authorization of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, control certification test, compliance documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research, inspections, and periodic audits.
  • Stay up to date on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
  • Recommend security enhancements to improve organizational resilience.
