About The Position

Everforth ECS Federal is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support a mission-focused federal cybersecurity program in Washington DC. This position is contingent upon contract award. Join Everforth ECS Federal to engineer security controls that protect critical federal infrastructure and mission systems. You will support national security and law enforcement readiness in a collaborative cybersecurity environment focused on secure operations, risk reduction, compliance, and mission assurance. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will design, implement, maintain, and improve cybersecurity controls across enterprise systems, networks, applications, and high-security environments. This role supports vulnerability management, access control, boundary defense, patch compliance, Zero Trust implementation, and secure configuration practices for federal mission systems. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will support vulnerability management, role-based access control, firewalls, IDS/IPS, patch compliance, Zero Trust controls, security documentation, remediation planning, and compliance activities. This position will work closely with cybersecurity teams, system administrators, network engineers, application teams, ISSOs, and program leadership to implement and maintain effective security controls aligned with mission needs and federal requirements. This role requires a hands-on senior cybersecurity professional with experience engineering and maintaining security controls in secure or regulated environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, troubleshooting skills, documentation discipline, risk awareness, and the ability to collaborate across technical and government stakeholder teams in a classified or sensitive federal mission environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years cybersecurity engineering experience
  • Experience implementing security controls in enterprise or federal environments
  • Security+ required
