About The Position

DirectViz Solutions (DVS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Engineer II to support cybersecurity operations through system hardening, vulnerability management, STIG implementation, and remediation activities across enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience securing Windows and Linux systems in accordance with DoD cybersecurity standards and best practices. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission systems while supporting compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in: Cybersecurity, Cyber Operations, Cyber Engineering, Information Systems Or an equivalent discipline.
  • Certification: one or more of the following (IAT II): CCNA, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+CE or SSCP.
  • 5 years of full-time professional experience performing system hardening with demonstrated experience in: STIG implementation
  • Vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool
  • Security Management policy guidance and directives
  • Remediation of vulnerability findings, including implementation of vendor patches on both Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Active Secret or higher Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system hardening activities on Windows and Linux operating systems in accordance with DoD security requirements and industry best practices.
  • Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) across supported systems and environments.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool and related cybersecurity tools.
  • Analyze, prioritize, and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities and security findings.
  • Apply vendor patches, security updates, and remediation actions for Linux and Windows environments.
  • Support cybersecurity compliance initiatives and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Maintain documentation related to system configurations, remediation efforts, and cybersecurity assessments.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to resolve security issues and strengthen system security posture.
  • Support audits, inspections, and cybersecurity reviews as required.
