About The Position

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure the architecture and design of cloud-hosted IT systems are secure and meet DOD requirements. This role involves reviewing cloud security policy, providing recommendations for improvement, and applying knowledge of current advances in cloud security engineering and threats to support the deployment of programs and applications. The SME will also provide guidance to assessment staff in performing Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments related to cloud hosting environments.

Requirements

Two (2) years of experience achieving ATO’s in a cloud environment (OCI, AWS, AZURE, GCP)
Five (5) years of experience achieving ATOs for compartment DoD IT systems.
Demonstrated experience supporting government agencies, customers, or contracts within federal environments. This includes the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Civil agencies, and military organizations.
8140 Requirements: Dod Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Work Role 521: Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist — Intermediate.
BA/BS in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or Software Engineering OR Approved DCWF 521 certifications (Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), CompTIA PenTest+, CompTIA Security+, GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON), GIAC Response and Industrial Defense (GRID), GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)) OR Approved DCWF Work Role 521 Military Training.
DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) Work Role 441: Network Operations Specialist — Intermediate.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience supporting the same or similar contract, with an in-depth understanding of the customer environment, requirements, and operational landscape, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Ensures the architecture and design of cloud-hosted IT systems are secure and meet DOD requirements.
Reviews Cloud security policy and provides recommendations for improvement to enhance security posture within the cloud as well as the ability to meet protection, detection, monitoring and response requirements for systems and data.
Applies knowledge of current advances in cloud security engineering and cloud security threats to provide support for the deployment of programs and applications.
Provides input to programs throughout the process of deployment to ensure systems meet DOD compliance.
Provides guidance to assessment staff in the performance of Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments as related to cloud hosting environments.
